Architectural decisions and system design analysis.
Tagline: A scalable tournament hosting infrastructure for competitive Warzone operations.
The "Why" (Project Vision)
Most tournament platforms are too generic. A2R Warzone was built to solve the specific pain points of high-stakes Call of Duty: Warzone competitions—automating score tracking, managing team seeding, and ensuring competitive integrity in a fast-paced environment.
Key Features
Dynamic Bracket Management: Automated generation of Single and Double-Elimination brackets for up to 64 teams.
Automated Kill-Race Scoring: A custom scoring engine that calculates points based on kills and placement multipliers (e.g., 1 point per kill, x1.5 multiplier for a Top 5 finish).
Real-time Leaderboards: Live-updating standings during the tournament window, reducing manual work for organizers.
Role-Based Team Captains: A dedicated dashboard for team captains to submit match proofs (screenshots/videos) and manage roster changes.
Anti-Cheat Verification Workflow: A submission system that allows admins to verify high-KD accounts and cross-reference player IDs before the tournament starts.
Technical Deep Dive
Frontend: Built with React/Next.js for a responsive, lag-free UI, ensuring players can check brackets on mobile while playing.
Backend: Developed using Node.js & Express, handling concurrent API calls from hundreds of players during peak tournament hours.
Database: MongoDB for flexible data storage of player profiles, tournament history, and match logs.
State Management: Utilized Redux/Zustand to maintain global state for live brackets and real-time score updates.
